One has to wonder why someone left these white flowers on the banks of the James River.
They are propped up on a fallen log. Maybe to get a better view.
I wonder if someone’s ashes had just been scattered into the river or maybe another, happier event, had taken place.
Maybe an act of love, a remembrance of something special.
One has to wonder.
A cloudy November walk down by the river
A most beautiful autumn day
Leafy path
Yellow leaves.
The air was fresh
The light diffused
Enticing
Encouraging me on
Stay, keep walking, you can’t relive this day
Enjoy.

Mid-November
Nature’s breeze
Shaking her trees’ leaves free,
Yellow, red and mostly brown
Covering the streets and roofs.
Mid-November slanty sun rays warming the air
One last time before the cold comes and stills the earth for the what seems like a very long 3 month sleep.
Bringing rest to the people and the earth, preparing for the burst of energy that comes each year with the grand spring awakening.
We will just have to wait.
I have been so busy that the new season has shown up unexpectedly.
Where did the summer go?

Fall begins today September 22, 2013 at 4:44pm EDT. The Autumn Equinox is one of the two times of the year that the day and night are of equal length. From here on out the days will become shorter and the nights longer until the Winter Solstice on December 21st.
I believe this is going to one fine fall.
It’s like overnight the world shifted.
The light is different, the air cool.
Although not yet Sept 22nd,
it is fall to me.
