There has been a plethora of good movies out lately. Here are my favorites in order which I liked them:

1  “True Grit”

2  “Winter’s Bone”

3  “Black Swan”

4  “The King’s Speech”

5  “Tron”

6  “The Social Network”

And this morning a friend called and said that “127 Hours” beats them all!

The Oscars are on February 27th.

The Musette Project

Next weekend Gypsy Roots with 2 other Django inspired bands will be playing in Roanoke, VA.

Here is a post by an eye witness from the site of Poe’s grave the night of January 19th. Written by Virginia Clemm and posted on The Rumpus it is titled ‘Last Night at the Grave.”

On January 19th, for the second year in a row, the infamous ‘Poe Toaster‘ failed to appear at Edgar Allan Poe’s grave. Virginia Clemm (the pen name of this essay’s anonymous author), on the other hand, was in attendance..

Spring is only two months away and the days are already getting longer!

After work on Friday go home take a quick nap then hurry over to the Camel at 9:30 to catch Rattlemouth and the No BS Brass Band.

On Saturday you can catch the Happy Lucky Combo at Ellwoods Cafe from 6-8pm then saddle up the horse and travel north to Ashland Coffee and Tea for the second Djangoary, a Django 3 band festival! Starting at 7pm.

And for once there are tons of good movies in town, “The King’s Speech,” “Black Swan,” “True Grit,” and don’t forget “Tron!”…and that FaceBook movie.

Note that URs International Film Series has moved back to Jepson 118, contrary to what the printed schedule states.

Loversville Is All Around

Posted in Music with tags , on January 15, 2011 by kozmicdogz

Loversville will be at Ellwoods Coffee for an early evening of country bliss.

My sources tell me there will be a mystery drummer playing this evening as the Reverend David Stover has a wedding to perform.

And remember, a visit to Loversville is like a vacation without leaving home.

I can’t be there tonight but it sounds like a little bit of January heaven to me!

Loversville is available on the internet:
