Irene Was Pretty Mean!

Posted in Environment with tags , on August 30, 2011 by kozmicdogz

We got hit hard this time. I will post photos on flickr when I get a chance and the ability. It is hard enough getting a hot cup of coffee and a hot shower.

I saw a couple of tree crews on Cherokee Road this evening. I hope they are coming my way.

Signing off from a dark and noisy (generators) place!

This is some of what Isabel brought back in September 2003. I hope we fare better this time.

Admist the rain, flooding, wind, and earthquakes, it may be time to take a side trip to Loversville this Saturday from 6 to 8pm at Ellwoods Cafe.

You may need your oars and rubber boots but I am sure you will be welcome.

Loversville is my kind of place.

AFTERSHOCK – 8:05

Posted in Environment with tags , on August 23, 2011 by kozmicdogz

Did you feel it? An aftershock at 8:05pm Tuesday Aug 23rd! Looks like it was a 4.2!

UPDATE: Thursday 1:07am – 4.5 aftershock. I woke up to a low rumble and some creaking. The FEMA website says if you are in bed during an earthquake stay there. Most people are hurt trying to flee during an earthquake. Stay put, get under a doorway or table until the movement stops, then go outside.

NBC 12 Breaking News!

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/

UPDATE:

There are conflicting reports to whether the earthquake was 5.8 or 5.9. Usually the USGS will revise their findings after going through the data collected. It was big enough.

More building damage is being reported in parts of Richmond. No injuries.
