Happy Thanksgiving!

Posted in Photography with tags on November 25, 2010 by kozmicdogz

Thanksgiving is a time for family to gather and give thanks, contemplate what life has given you or what you have struggled for on your own.

The photo above is of my mother, sister, and cousins taken before I was born at my grandmother’s house possibly on Thanksgiving 1947.

There were millions of similar photos taken like this of family gatherings that are now in boxes, some in photo albums, and probably more molding in the land fills. When you are visiting this Thanksgiving see if there are some old photos of your own family that you can rescue and scan and save for future generations.

Ciao!

TV On

I don’t know what it is…but lately my television has been trying to communicate, to talk to me.

I know I shouldn’t listen.

I know I should stop looking, but I can’t.

The television is always on.

The James River Film Society and the Byrd Theatre bring Christopher Hellion Glover to the Byrd theatre on December 3rd, 9:30pm.

Glover will perform the hour long “Crispin Hellion Glover’s Big Slide Show” and there will be a screening of his 2007 film, “It is Fine! Everything is Fine.”

Glover the eccentric actor of such diverse films as “Back to the Future”  as George McFly, “River’s Edge ” as Layne, and “Hot Tub Time Machine” as Phil, is touring with his big slide show performance and film.

Tickets are available for $20 at Chop Suey Books and Video Van and the Byrd Theatre the day of the event after 9pm. There will be a Q&A after the film.

This should be another wild Richmond experience.

See you there!

Veterans Day

Francis and Carmen - 11/11/1918

This photo of my uncle and father (less than a year old) was taken on November 11, 1918, the day WWI ended. Veterans Day was originally known as Armistice Day because at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11 month the Armistice Treaty was signed with Germany ending WWI.

Happy Veterans Day to all the veterans out there!
