For a city that prides itself on its history and is known for its ability to seem like a place where time has stood still, sometimes not always for the best,  much has changed architecturally and culturally over the years and the city continues to evolve.

Richmond artist, life-archivist and collector of precious things, Caryl Burtner’s new show, “Missing Richmond: time capsules & relics” opens Friday September 5, 2014. She visits the changes to her city over the last 40 years.  The show is at the Wilton Companies Gallery at University of Richmond, downtown. 626 E. Broad Street and it runs September 5th until December 23rd.

“Missing Richmond” is a part of the 2014-15 Tucker-Boatwright Festival of the Arts.

Included as a part Burtner’s exhibit are a few photos by yours truly from a time long past.
