Summer Vacation

Posted in Writers & Writing with tags , on May 28, 2013 by kozmicdogz

We recently spent a wonderfully relaxing week on Ocracoke Island. Ocracoke is at the southern tip of the barrier islands of North Carolina known as the Outer Banks. Unfortunately today it is back to work. On the positive side it is a short week.

At the house we rented there were shelves filled with old paperbacks including a selection of Ian Fleming books with secret agent, James Bond.

Memorial Day ~ 2013

Posted in Writers & Writing with tags , on May 27, 2013 by kozmicdogz

For Memorial Day I replaced the fan in the bathroom and started reading “I, The Jury” by Mickey Spillane.

Mike Hammer is on the trail of the murderer of his pal from the Army, Jack Williams. Jack lost an arm saving Hammer’s life from a Japanese soldier, and now he is dead.

Happy Memorial Day!

Today Rain….

Beautiful weather last night

A few days off work for restoration
I will be reading and riding my bike
Work has been, let’s say, challenging
Life has been full otherwise

ah…but today rain.

All Is Right…

Fire in the fireplace
glass of red wine
spring is really here
and life is feeling fine.

What could be better tonight,
when life is feeling so right?

A revised version of David Bowie’s Space Oddity, recorded by Commander Chris Hadfield on board the International Space Station.

This is so cool! Thanks to FB friends for posting.

Last week I was in Athens, Georgia for a conference and in a 2nd floor comix book store, WUXTRY & Stuff, I spotted the 3rd issue of “Boys & Girls Grow Up: In The Atomic Age.” A nice surprise to see an old issue still for sale, even though it was still $2.50 after all of these years.
