The Second Annual Southern Film Festival is happening now!

From the VCU College of Humanities and Sciences blog:

The Southern Film Festival will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26, at the Grace Street Theater at 934 W. Grace Street.

To Kill a Mockingbird will be shown at the conclusion of the festival, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the novel.

Charles Shields, author of the New York Times best-seller Mockingbird: A Portrait of Harper Lee will explain how Lee converted the novel into a screenplay. He will also be reading from his book on Thursday evening before the festival at the Fountain Book Store and signing his book at the Thursday reading and on Saturday at Barnes & Noble @ VCU.

Mary Badham, the actress who played Scout, will discuss her experiences on the set of the film.
