Yesterday we found a racoon skull down at Rattlesnake Creek, and in the evening we could hear peepers all the way from the creek on our front porch.

Just before the rain started we saw pink buds on the azalea under the dog wood by the shed,

the same shed the dead pine fell on a few months back.

Spring can’t be far away.

A New Year

The new year is ten days old and I just realized it has passed without a post.

The holidays are over and we are in the thick of winter;

although the days are slowly gaining length giving hope

for the coming spring.

Photo is of Rattlesnake Creek near my house where bamboo grows on the banks.

Snake in the grass!

Posted in Environment with tags , on August 22, 2013 by kozmicdogz

Actually it is a snake by the creek. We saw this guy sunning himself on the banks of Rattlesnake Creek. There was a nice bulge visible under his snake skin which must have been a frog or other water creature. We went back an hour later and he was still in the same spot in the same position. We believe he is a Northern Water Snake.

No Rattlesnakes!
