The National Archives Has A Flickr Site

The National Archives has a Flickr account with 206 sets of photographs. Each set has as few as one photo and other sets have hundreds of photographs.

As of today the National Archives site has just short of 25,000 images. In addition to photographs there are also images of documents and posters. The images span in time  from the Civil War, many from the 70s, and a smattering from the 80s, 90s and more recent.

Lots of Mathew Brady Civil War photos and Americana from the 70s and even a photo of Nixon with Elvis.

There is a set of almost 700 photos by Lewis Hine. Many of his  photos are from coal mining country during the depression.
