It’s Time to Dust off Those Old Bowties.

Last night we attended the grand opening of MOVIELAND, brought to us by BowTie Cinemas at Boulevard Square. I was going to take some photographs but the batteries died in my camera on the first shot, so I have scanned our ticket stubs from the premier.
At 6pm the parking lot was almost full, Channel 12 had their satelite truck there, and the theatre was filled with smiling Richmonders with cash in their hands. I believe the Bowtie father and son duo were there, as there were lots of people in charge standing around grinning from ear to ear.
We chose to see “The Reader” with Kate Winslet, Ralph Fiennes, and David Kross. Winslet won the Academy Award for best Actress. An intense film with great acting that leaves one with questions and deep thought.
The theatre was very clean (of course), the seats roomy and comfortable. We were in Auditorium 4 which had seats on the floor level as well as stadium seating. We choose the floor seating, I am not a big fan of stadium seating in a movie theatre.
Before the feature there were no Coke or Fandango ads, only coming attractions. The projection was flawless, bright and in focus, and the audience behaved themselves as adults. I have joined the Criterion Club and look forward to all of the amenities that brings as well as what this theater will be offering Richmond. It has been a long dry season for the movie going public in Richmond. There have been lots of closings and few openings. It was a great night for the city.

The snow storm proves for once and for all – there is NO GLOBAL WARMING!
What kind of a web site is this? You sure seem interested in the arts. What kind of weirdo blogs about this homosexual socialist pabulum?
